Touched, the book out now!

Touched - The Book

Touch is the mark of truth, the most intimate gesture and the greatest commitment. To touch or to be touched is the performance of truth, when incredulity is displaced and the world condenses into a moment of all enveloping realisation, changing everything.

The eagerly awaited publication is now available to buy online at the special price of £17.50 (RRP £22.50), plus postage & packing. Orders will begin shipping on 15 April.

Touched - The Book, 352 pages, 233 colour and 2 black & white photographs, 17cm x 23cm.

Touch is the mark of truth, the most intimate gesture and the greatest commitment. To touch or to be touched is the performance of truth, when incredulity is displaced and the world condenses into a moment of all enveloping realisation, changing everything.

Touch arrives unexpectedly, locating our most intimate moments in space and time through every sense – emotionally and consciously. To live by these moments where strength and vulnerability conjoin in their terror and beauty is a commitment – a commitment to oneself and to the world that is both personal and political.

Touched - The Book traverses topical issues that surrounded and informed the making and experience of the 6th Liverpool Biennial; from fidgeting to the unnamable image of war, to religion and sacriledge, the endurance of Marx and the acceleration of the infosphere.

Touched - The Book also includes the works of over 60 artists who participated in the Touched exhibition photographed by Thierry Bal and Liz Lock & Mishka Henner.

With essays and contributions by Franco 'Bifo' Berardi, Lewis Biggs, Tony Chakar, Steven Connor, Simon Critchley, Paul Domela, Frances Loeffler, Coco Fusco, Lorenzo Fusi, Lynn Hershman and Alison Rowley, Alphonso Lingis, Nina Power, Ziauddin Sardar, AbdouMaliq Simone and Mark Waugh. Edited by Paul Domela.
